Recently, in one of the worlds deepest ocean trenches, scientists have found a highly social group of fish. They are living roughly five miles below the surface of the Pacific Ocean.
This is the first time cameras have been put to the task of going this far down. The snail fish, is the worlds deepest living fish, living exclusively at the bottom of the see floor. The fish that were caught on tape, were huddled around another dead fish, eating the thousands of crap like creatures that feed off dead fish.
These fish have to do deal with some of the harshest of habitats; such as completely darkness or the thousands of pounds of pressure. In the article they showed a video of the fish explaining the whole thing, and the amount of pressure these fish have to deal with, fromt he weight of the water on top of them, is equavilant to 1600 elephants standing on a car. On top of all that, its also near freezing temperatures.
The cameras and equipment used to film this expedition were made specificly for this purpose. That is to go five miles below sea level :P
